U13s vs Louth U13s

A Game of Two Halves

Caythorpe U13s produced a performance of two very different halves at home against Louth. Outstanding in the opening 35 minutes, playing with confidence, energy and attacking intent to establish a deserved 3–0 lead. Carson was one of the stars of the first half, scoring two top-drawer goals. His first was an absolute stunner from well outside the box, flying into the top corner and leaving the keeper with no chance. In between Carson’s two goals, Leon produced a great effort that was saved by the Louth keeper, but Brads was on hand to capitalise and calmly find the net.

Unfortunately, the second half was a complete U-turn. Caythorpe struggled to maintain the intensity and control they had shown before the break, allowing Louth back into the game. Six second-half goals turned the match on its head and, despite the excellent first-half performance, Caythorpe eventually went down 3-6.

Despite the disappointment, Lennon put in a superb shift in midfield, covering every blade of grass. Henry was also excellent, showing strength in the tackle, impressive pace and a drilled shot that seriously tested the Louth keeper.

The scoreline was disappointing, however the challenge now is to take that first-half intensity and maintain it for the full game.

We’d like to thank all of the parents for their support, and our home kit sponsor Holton Independent Schools.
