Burgh Town U12s 2-2 Caythorpe & Fulbeck JFC U12s

Two weeks ago, Burgh Town came out 11-0 winners in the first meeting between these sides. Fast forward to today, and the U12s made the trip to the seaside determined to show how far they have come.

From the first whistle, something felt different. Although Burgh Town started strongly and put Caythorpe under pressure, the shape, organisation and work rate of the visitors were there for all to see. Despite a spirited defensive display, Caythorpe went into the break trailing 2-0.

The scoreline did little to dent the team's belief. Caythorpe emerged for the second half full of determination and refused to give in. Every player battled for one another, showing the character and resilience that has become a real feature of this group.

With just six minutes remaining, Luther sparked the comeback. Timing his run perfectly to beat the offside trap, he drove past a defender before calmly lifting the ball into the roof of the net. Game on.

As the clock ticked down, Caythorpe continued to push forward. Then, with just one minute left on the clock, Olivier's quick throw found Maciej in space on the inside left. Just as they had worked on in training, Maciej linked up brilliantly with Mia, squaring the ball for a composed finish into the bottom corner. Cue wild celebrations from players, coaches and supporters alike.

After a huge team effort, the final whistle blew with the scores level at 2-2. A remarkable turnaround against the same opponents who had won so convincingly just two weeks earlier.
