The U11s travelled en masse to the south of the city to face Hykeham Tigers for the season opener.

14 and 11 worked in tandem up front, with rock-solid No7 behind them in midfield.Chances came and went for both sides in an evenly matched first half, with the best opportunity falling to 10, who rattled the crossbar from around 15 yards out.The second half saw a switch in tactics, with a familiar 2-3-1 formation deployed.

3 and 17 worked well together defensively, with 3 making two spectacular clearances from corners.

Caythorpe did lack the determination to close down players, leading to the home side getting a few shots away. No1, between the sticks as usual, showed he has a safe pair of hands. He was eventually beaten after Caythorpe failed to close down the ball, allowing the hosts to draw first blood.

9 earned himself two shots on goal, narrowly missing via the side netting after exploiting space on the right. The woodwork was struck again, this time by 6 after a lovely through ball from 11 split the defence.In the closing moments, a robust challenge by 6 gave away a free kick after mistiming his challenge. Whilst no threat emerged, it left a divided, salty finish to an otherwise well-contested fixture.
