Bardney Tournament Success!

Today's tournament at Bardney saw two Caythorpe teams drawn in the same group, with one of our teams being an U9 side playing up a year in an U10 tournament.

The opening game couldn't have been any closer, as Caythorpe faced Caythorpe. It was a brilliant match that ended 0-0 after 10 competitive minutes.

Throughout the tournament, both teams performed exceptionally well, competing with great determination and recording several clean sheets along the way. Their hard work and quality on the pitch led to a fantastic outcome, with both Caythorpe teams reaching the final.

The final was another all-Caythorpe affair. The U9s took an early lead, but the U10s never gave up. After the halftime switch of ends, they kept the pressure on and found a deserved equaliser with a goal that mirrored the U9s' opener.

At full time, the score was 1-1, which meant the tournament would be decided by the dreaded penalty shootout.

The U9s held their nerve and came out victorious!

A fantastic tournament, with brilliant football, great sportsmanship, and incredible support for and from both teams throughout the day.
