🔵⚫ U12s | WHAT A FINISH!

CAYTHORPE & FULBECK JFC 2-3 GREENBANK CORINTHIANS

The first half started as an evenly contested affair, with both sides enjoying good spells of football.
Greenbank found the breakthrough and quickly made it 2-0. Caythorpe had chances of our own, but the final ball just wouldn’t quite fall for us. Just before half-time, Greenbank struck again to take a 3-0 lead into the break.

The second half continued in much the same way. It was an even contest, with both teams hitting the woodwork, but as the game wore on it looked like it simply wasn’t going to be our day.

But this team never stopped fighting. 💪

With just three minutes remaining, some slick football involving Maciej, debutant Freddie and Luther finally got its reward.
Luther’s strike was brilliantly stopped by the keeper, but Freddie was quickest to react, making absolutely sure from three yards out.

⚽ 3-1. GAME ON.

Just 45 seconds later, we were coming again!

Luther and Freddie combined before Maciej’s strike was deflected behind for a corner. Maciej took the resulting corner short to Olivier, who laid it back into his path. Maciej delivered a high ball into the area and Freddie rose to head home his second!

⚽ 3-2!

Caythorpe pushed for what would have been a remarkable equaliser, but unfortunately the clock beat us.

A defeat on paper, but there were so many positives to take from the performance. Most importantly, this group showed tremendous character and kept battling right until the very end. 💙🖤

⭐ PLAYER OF THE MATCH: CHARLIE
👏 SPECIAL MENTION: FREDDIE

What a way to mark your Caythorpe debut, with TWO GOALS! ⚽⚽
